STEPHEN FOSTER FOLK CENTER:

Open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown. Exhibits are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Special events are scheduled at the center throughout the year. Events include presentations of folk art, crafts, and the performing arts.

OLUSTEE BATTLE FIELD

Olustee Battlefield State Historic Site is located on U.S. 90, 15 miles east of Lake City, Florida. Or you can get to the battlefield by going East on I-10 to exit 324. During most of the year free parking is available right inside the entrance. However, during the annual reenactment parking spaces are harder to come by. If you intend to visit the Historic Site during the reenactment read the advice on parking in The Authentic Spectator.

SANTA FE RIVER CANOE OUTPOST

Canoe in the most beautiful part of Florida. The Santa Fe Canoe Outpost offers a wide variety of paddling excursions on the Santa Fe, Ichetucknee, and Suwannee Rivers. As you float lazily downstream, you will experience river banks choked with pines, cypress, oaks, and other hardwoods. An abundance of wildlife can be sighted year round, including several species of turtles, birds and fish. In addition, on special occasions, beaver, otter, deer, wild boar, and, of course, our old friend the alligator.

GINNIE SPRINGS

SKUNKIE ACRE

Petting Zoo and Horseback RidingZOO. Skunkie Acres educates Children and Adults about animals here in the State of Florida and also animals from around the world. The zoo is Free to the Public and is run entirely on donations.  They also have an Exotic Petting Farm complete with African tortoises, Miniature Brahma, Pygmy Goats, Llama, Chinese Deer, and more. HORSES-The Riding Stables were founded as a means to help support thier Animal Rescue and monies received from this goes directly to the animals. They have 1 and 2 hour wooded Guided Horseback trails. The 2 hour trail goes down by the lake and also on the banks of the Suwannee River. You will see Florida Wildlife such as deer, tortosies, turkeys, and much more on many of our trails. We have available also riding lessons for Children and Adults. SOUTHERN OAKS GOLF CLUB
